With all the accounts we have to create for every portal we log into nowadays, it’s getting hard to keep track of all those passwords. But each one offers something different, or at least they’re trying to, even if it’s just how the pictures are arranged on the screen. Below are the most popular social networking sites currently on the web, ranked by number of unique monthly visits. Although new ones seem to be popping up every day now, each giving us brand new ways to procrastinate.

10. Badoo, 2,500,000 unique monthly visits
Badoo is a dating-oriented social site founded in 2006 and managed out of its Soho, London headquarters. It operates in more than 180 countries, but the majority of its users come from Latin America, Italy, Spain, and France. Badoo grows by 150,000 new registrations per day.


9. LiveJournal, 20,500,000 unique monthly visits
Users of LiveJournal keep a blog, journal, or diary on this site that’s used by a number of influential political pundits, especially in Russia. A number of public figures use this network that started all the way back in 1999


8. Google+, 65,000,000 unique monthly visits
One of the newest social networking sites on the scene, Google+ integrated into the other Google accounts like Gmail in November 2011. It’s expected to have more than 400 million members by the end of 2012, as one of the fastest growing networking sites ever.


7. Myspace, 70,500,000 unique monthly visits
One of the first major players in the social networking ballgame, MySpace is becoming less of a friend-finding tool and more of a  virtual audition stage for new and not-yet-discovered artists to debut new tracks and reach their fans.


6. LinkedIn, 110,000,000 unique monthly visits
LinkedIn is a social networking site designed for professionals. It has more than 35 million members and claims that some of those members are executives from every Fortune 500 Company. It helps people find jobs and employees, probably the most important function a social site can have right now.


5. Pintrest, 230,000,000 unique monthly visits
A pinboard-style social sharing site, Pintrest lets users create collections of images that they love online. They can browse other pinboards for inspiration and re-pin images to their own boards, creating endless curated collections. Pinterest’s mission is to “connect everyone in the world through the ‘things’ they find interesting” through a global platform of inspiration.


4. Twitter, 250,000,000 unique monthly visits
Twitter invented micro-microblogging, bringing updates down to a simple 140 characters that members can send out to whoever chooses to follow them. Created in March 2006, Twitter had over 140 million active users as of 2012, creating more than 340 millions tweets daily.


3. Tumblr, 270,000,000 unique monthly visits
A microblogging platform that lets users upload posts as easily as possibly, Tumblr also serves as a social networking site, connecting those who like to post similar things. Tumblr first made the dashboard concept popular, and as of this summer it has more than 50 million blogs.

2. YouTube,  450,000,000 unique monthly visits
Although not your traditional social networking site, users do have profiles and comment-abilities, connecting their work to others, even though that work is limited to strictly videos. Anyone can view most YouTube videos, but you have to create an account to post one of your own.

1. Facebook, 750,000,000  unique monthly visits
Launched in February 2004, Facebook now has its very own movie, giving it the most famous start-up founder of all time: Mark Zuckerburg. With more than 900 million active users, the average member currently spends around 7.5 hours on Facebook every month.
